Phase 3: Development3 min read

Your project begins to take shape in the third phase of our Universal Process: Development. We take the vision and collateral that was put together in the Discovery and Design phases and start to build your website.

At StickOutSocial, we specialize in WordPress development. WordPress is an open-source content management system and as of early 2017 was used by more than 27% of the top 10 million websites on the web. WordPress websites require themes and we most often use the Avada theme.

Avada has been the number one selling WordPress theme for over 5 years. The support, customization, and quality of the theme is virtually unmatched on the market. Avada is the ‘swiss army knife’ of WordPress themes, allowing our designers and developers to create stunning sites without battling strict theme preferences.

As our developers begin to build, a development environment is created and set up with a hidden, secure URL link for clients to check out how their project is coming along at any time.

Every page is built so that they function well on major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge (formerly Internet Explorer). At this point, all functionality is implemented and also tested on tablet and mobile devices.

Since WordPress operates with a plug-in architecture, we have grown to know the best and most reliable plug-ins. Some of our favorites include: GravityForms, WP Google Maps, and WooCommerce for e-commerce websites.

If your site requires custom development this will only be performed to the site’s core files. The drag-and-drop editing ability within the CMS remains ‘code free’. Custom code is applied to page designs and stored as a ‘template’ for you to easily replicate to create new pages. Our most commonly used web languages are: PHP, CSS, HTML, jQuery, and Javascript.

Upon completion, the final product will be presented to the client for any development-related feedback and upon client approval, we move into the Deployment phase.
