Everyone talks about the importance of networking with professionals in and out of your industry. Although some events are better than others, you will meet new people at every event you go to.
I am going to highlight networking events that I’m interested in. I will be attending some of them, since I’m always looking to meet new people. If you see me at any of these events, don’t be a stranger, come say hi!
Mixing it up at the Met!

I haven’t been to many mid-day networking events since I’m usually running around doing work things at that time. This is a shorter event as you can see, but there are many positives to it. Everyone gets a chance to introduce themselves for 30 seconds (maybe spit a quick elevator pitch) and there is a guest speaker. Sounds interesting to me. Instead of eating lunch at the office and being antisocial, go build your network.
Chicago Inno’s Tech Madness Bracket Reveal 2017

Tech Madness is a lot like NCAA March Madness. Instead of the top 64 college basketball teams being showcased, it’s the top 64 tech companies in a bracket-style competition. I’m pumped to find out if we are selected as 1 of the top 64!

Network After Work Chicago at Highline

I have been to a number of Network After Work events. Every event I go to I meet a lot of new people, but I also see a few that I have met before. What’s great about these events is that they aren’t industry specific. You’ll meet people from varying industries. I think you’ll enjoy this one. Most of the networking events that I listed require a ticket purchase, but there are many not included in this blog that are free.
