Web Development Project Manager (Chicago, Illinois)

Job Description

The Web Development Project Manager role at BuildThis requires organization, flexibility, proactivity, and a strategic mindset. We work with our clients on Project Teams to see their projects through to completion, collaborating with our clients to produce the best possible result. We are looking for someone experienced in Project Management that can learn our processes and take us to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Manage application & website design & development projects from onboarding to completion:
    • Manage all aspects of the project from requirements definition to post-implementation support.
    • Active management of project scope & budget.
    • Monitor & report status and progress of projects to Management
  • Serve as main point of contact for ongoing/retainer Application maintenance & support clients.
  • Work with BuildThis’ management team to refine & grow the Application & Web Development Departments as it relates to managing projects.
  • Provide technical architecture leadership in relation to new project discovery, design, development, and deployment.
  • Assist in preparation of technical information in response to proposals.
  • Lead stand up meetings with the Design & Development teams.

Job Description

The Website Designer role at BuildThis works within the WordPress & Application Development department. The role requires tenacity, collaboration, initiative, and an in-depth understanding of design. As an agency, we work with a multitude of clients spanning many industries; and ability to adapt & an interest in constantly learning & evolving is paramount to this role.

Produce engaging, unique website & application visual designs as part of a collaborative design team. Responsibilities includes:

  • Work collaboratively & communicate effectively with Design Team, Project Managers, & Developers within Project Teams.
  • Complete required work for client projects from onboarding to completion on time & within estimated hours.
    • This includes, but is not limited to: performing stakeholder interviews, participating in client-facing design sprints, uncovering & evaluating functional needs/requests/features, usability & audience understanding & suggestions, wireframing, comprehensive research & insight of client’s industry & design specifications, visual design & web style guide creation, implementation of SEO best practices in asset coordination, and perform necessary measures to ensure mobile responsiveness & quality assurance across common browsers & devices.
  • Development of WordPress websites in accordance with approved design layouts, on occasion.
  • Accountable for delivery of work on the provided due date & within estimated time.
    • Designer will be responsible to provide estimates (or approval on estimates) on new projects & adjust estimates based on information obtained throughout the course of a project.
  • Professionally present & sell design vision & assets.

Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, & XD), WordPress technologies (themes & plugins), CSS3, HTML5,  and SEO best practices for web development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UI/UX theory & information architecture.
  • Strong personal design vision.
  • Fundamental understanding of jQuery, Javascript, PHP, API connections, & MySQL/database management. (You will need to understand how these technologies effect design & development requirements).

Sales & Business Development Representative (Chicago, Illinois)

Job Description

BuildThis is looking for a seasoned sales & business development representative who has the motivation and personality to flourish in a fast paced and growing environment.

There are two primary components to the job: form partnerships with agencies that refer you leads, and close the leads for a new website or software application.

Partnering agencies like in person meetings, grabbing drinks, dinners, etc. They’re motivated to send us business both from a financial and client success standpoint. The leads they send us are typically corporations with revenues between $5mm-$100mm, and they are always excited to share their vision for their company’s digital footprint. We have a simple 3 step process to taking the lead through the sales funnel.

Job boards are another means to generating new business. Also, inbound leads from marketing efforts are available. The sales CRM we use is HubSpot, and our marketing department sends email campaigns to leads lists via MailChimp.

Responsibilities

Conduct lead generation campaigns, with target market and timing direction provided by Sales Leadership. This includes:

  • Gathering lead information from various sources in order to build target lists for prospecting activities.
  • Developing strong relationships with key contacts within prospect organizations.
  • Vetting prospects to identify its company and web goals.
  • Generating qualification reports and project proposals to present to prospects.
  • Documenting all activity within the CRM in order to track activity and measure results.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of business development, sales or inside sales experience, or experience in the web development industry.
  • Ability to understand technology and communicate it’s business value to prospects.
