Cloudflare is a web-infrastructure and security company that provides a handful of web-based services, such as CDN hosting, DNS management, and internet security. We use Cloudflare mostly for its DNS management, which allows us to direct your domain to a live website. We do this by creating a CNAME record for your domain that “points” to a WPengine buildout. DNS management is needed to set up services like email as well. We also utilize Cloudflare for its CDN hosting. Simply put, instead of your websites content being stored on one server, the content is actually spread out through multiple different servers, which improves your speed and security.
